    Our Programs

    Infant

    Ages 6 weeks – 18 months

Our infant program is designed around interest-led planning in a bright room with solarium windows. With a playground directly outside the classroom with rubber surfacing and a white picket fence, your child will be able to explore, learn and grow in a safe, clean and positive environment.

Large, mature trees provide excellent shading and protection from the sun during the warmer months, and heated flooring indoors helps to keep your child warmer in the winter. Your infant’s child care will always be held in a safe environment, with the ideal temperature and climate to keep them comfortable.

Each child is assigned their own individual crib, and our programming encourages self-help skills—eating on their own, walking and talking.
Our infant child care programming motivates and supports children to become more independent and develop their creative, sensory, gross and fine motor skills as well as French. All of these foundational abilities are part of the daily routines, with the inclusion of Christian guidance and principles.

Each child in our care is instructed with the goal of mastering development skills through repetition in singalongs, dramatic play, and verbal encouragement.

Our infant child care program also prioritizes outdoor play on our soft rubber surface and private play area, where children can safely explore their outdoor environment.

    Toddler

    Ages 18 months – 2½ years

Our Mississauga Toddler child care program allows for smaller group sizes and HUGE opportunities to learn! Toddlers are some of the most animated and personable groups of children, fascinated about the world around them and excited to learn more.

At this age, the children develop more of a sense of “self” within their world and how they relate to others. Social cues are a significant portion of the toddler program, with interest-led planning and special attention paid to expressive language and autonomy to set and accomplish individual/personal goals.

Children of this age sleep on cots, and the curriculum centres around open-ended play. Many activities, from sensory to dramatic to gross motor, are all available in one playroom. Children must make conscious, creative decisions and teachers act as play partners to help the student understand “why” and “how” while building and learning. We introduce potty training at two years, and before moving to the preschool room, toddlers must be able to wear underwear instead of diapers and demonstrate independence while eating, walking or getting dressed.

Our Mississauga toddler child care program, has outdoor space dedicated to this age group with structures and rubber surfacing, as well as shade from the pergolas and from umbrellas, with a white picket fence.

    Preschool

    Ages 2½ years – 4 years

Working together to help others and achieve a goal together is the developmental goal at the Preschool stage. At this age, children are in need of guidance to manage their emotions and collaborate better with others. Our Preschool staff provides interest-led planning in bright classrooms divided into three classes, with special attention to turn-taking, dramatic play, reading, building and creative (including sensory). Self-help skills continue for dressing and undressing from outdoor play, along with fine motor skills, which serve as a precursor to writing skills and control for holding a pen/pencil.

Dedicated outdoor space is provided for this age group with pergolas and umbrellas for shade and a white picket fence. The major focus through all programming, including supervised play, is to help children to question, learn, collect and organize sensory information to reflect and draw on conclusions that solidify behaviour patterns into late developmental phases. Asking open-ended “how” and “why” questions are excellent tools that staff use to help students critically assess situations and their own actions. This means that through almost every minute of play, your preschool-aged children are learning about the world around them and how they fit in with their peers as unique individuals.

    Kindergarten

    Ages 4 – 5 years

With smaller class sizes in our Mississauga Kindergarten programs, your child can receive the special attention and care they need for their education, socialization and cognitive development.

Some parents may wish to keep their children in private Senior and Junior Kindergarten care, with longer operating hours and fresh meals.

GENESIS is our foundation of learning, and we provide the ELECT and Ontario JK/SK Kindergarten Curriculums. The classroom has large windows, great outdoor space, and a dedicated playground, while play and learning areas in the classroom support flexible seating. Children at this age learn the most by communicating verbally with family, peers and teachers. We also want parents to be a part of their child’s learning experience and growth, and children are also able to learn French throughout our programs. Self-regulation is the focus when it comes to going to the bathroom, and our facility has two washrooms for our children to use.

    Katryn Murray

    Supervisor, Program
    and Training Director

My main interest and focus is child development. My goal is to understand the variety of age groups that come into my centre and coach my staff to organize and plan activities that are developmentally appropriate and engaging for each age group. I strive to be a support for teachers, children and parents by providing Parent and Child Workshops once a month on Saturdays. This time allows me to support parents in challenging areas (Potty Learning, Behaviour Management) and even give them tips on getting messy and exploring with their child (Open Ended Creative, Sensory and Science for Kids). Early Childhood Education focuses on following the lead of a child. We are play partners and support play in a positive and supportive environment.
