Our Programs

Infant

Ages 6 weeks – 18 months

Our infant program in Newmarket focuses on the child’s individual and specific needs through interest-led planning. The infant room is bright with large windows, a playground with rubber surfacing and a white picket fence. We also have an umbrella for shade outdoors. The infant room is set up to optimize different stages of development and encourages self-help skills—eating on their own, walking and talking. Each infant is also assigned a crib for nap times.

French-speaking and creativity, as well as fine and gross motor skills, are prioritized during this stage of your child’s development, helping to create a solid fundamental foundation for their learning and growth later down the road.

Skills and developmental milestones such as imitation are repeated so that the child can learn to master these skills through singing songs with actions, playing pretend and caring for dolls, or modelling actions with verbal encouragement.

Our infant program also employs the use of gradual admission so that parents can ease their infant’s transition into a new social environment.

Toddler

Ages 18 months – 2½ years

Toddlers are at an exciting age where language, individuality and verbal communication are at their highest levels thus far. Children at this age are constantly curious, processing and absorbing sensory information and forming their own logical conclusions based on their environment. Our toddler daycare services prioritize interest-led planning and allow for smaller group sizes and more one-on-one time with their teacher.

Our program provides outdoor space dedicated to this age group, with rubber surfacing and shade from umbrellas and a white picket fence. Children of this age sleep on cots during nap time, and our facility has bright, friendly classrooms. There are many activities, from sensory and dramatic play to gross motor skill development, all in one room.

Autonomy, according to ELECT, involves an individual’s ability to set goals and apply perseverance in pursuit of accomplishing those goals. At our daycare center, teachers act as play partners when working with children, asking leading questions to help children form their own conclusions about “why” and “how” their input impacts the physical environment around them. For example, when building with blocks, a child has the autonomy to set their goal for building a certain structure, and when the blocks all fall on the ground, a teacher suggests alternatives to help the child solve the problem.

Potty Learning starts at the age of two, and our Toddler programs encourage your child’s independence in walking, talking, eating, and getting dressed for outdoor activities.

Preschool

Ages 2½ years – 4 years

Collaboratively working in a group allows individuals to become “more than the sum of their parts,” and it is a valuable characteristic of a functioning adult in our society. This is a foundational skill that requires the ability to process and manage your own thoughts and feelings while contributing positively to a group activity.

Our learners are consistently exposed to turn-taking, collaborative play and problem-solving activities to help facilitate reflection and form internal connections to understand the world around them. Our preschool daycare staff are also trained to plan an activity that involves sorting and matching object sets and discussing how concepts were learned/discovered by the child.

Our Preschool program provides interest-led planning and a dedicated outdoor space for our preschoolers with umbrellas for shade and a white picket fence. The bright preschool classrooms are divided into three classes, with room for dramatic play, a reading area, a building area, and creative play, including sensory. Self-help skills continue for dressing and undressing from outdoor play, in addition to collaborative play.

Kindergarten

Ages 4 – 5 years

With a smaller class size for your child’s private Junior Kindergarten or Senior Kindergarten education, your child will have an increased opportunity to spend valuable one-on-one time with their teacher. We follow the Ontario JK/SK Curriculum, with GENESIS as our foundation of learning.

The Kindergarten classroom has large windows, great outdoor space, and a dedicated playground. Areas in the classroom support flexible seating. This program is designed to encourage a love of learning. This is done through play activities that are specifically geared towards graphs, shapes, patterns, and spatial relationships—children develop their memorization, categorization, and identifying skills through our programmed activities.

We also provide French learning throughout the week, which is a great way to introduce your child to French immersion in the future. We upload weekly activity images and explanations to help you stay engaged with your child’s learning and development while they are in our care.

Camps

Ages 4 – 12 years

Camps are provided during Christmas, March Break and Summer at our Newmarket child care centre. Socially and cognitively stimulating activities and a Christian curriculum will help support your child’s growth during their time off from school. Camps always have a new and exciting Christian Theme!

If you are looking for Before-School or After-School care for your child, you can trust our program to help your child develop their skills in math, science, literacy and creativity. The activities are dedicated to supporting your child’s growth and development, with age-appropriate and stimulating programming available before and after school or for a full PA Day.

Testimonials

Angelic Treasures is the best there is. Period. My husband and I have been sending our son here since he was 5 months, and now he’s almost 2 years old. Every day, we are blown away by what he has learned and accomplished in his class – and his huge smile when we pick him up says it all. He has learned so many social skills, sign language, empathy and compassion, sharing, and countless other tools while at Angelic Treasures. We feel so highly about the education and care he receives here that we’ve actually referred two of our friends here as well! Paola and the staff of Angelic Treasures treat our son like he’s part of their families – so we always know he’s in the very best of hands. We cannot recommend it enough!

We sent our daughter to preschool at Angelic Treasures Newmarket after 2.5 years at home with us. Although a hard transition (for mom and dad), the lovely team at Angelic Treasures make us feel so comfortable and, most importantly, make our daughter feel loved, respected and welcome. Every day she comes home from pre-school we notice she has learned or developed a skill (like counting, reading, social cues); we’re very proud… and thankful! We’re thankful for this incredible centre and all they’re teaching our daughter and the love they show her every day! 💫❤️

Our two little ones (2 and almost 4) have been going there since the fall of last year. Angelic Treasures Newmarket is such an incredible place for little learners and little hearts. When we started with ATCD(N), we were all nervous, as it was their first time away from in-home care, but the staff and team at ATCD(N) made our transition seamless and comfortable. Their instructors are incredibly caring, intuitive and invested in the children and their learning, and their supervisor is always willing and available for communication to answer questions and build relationships with the families that ATCD(N) serves. When we started our youngest was shy and quite, and he has blossomed into a chatty, brave young man. Our oldest has been able to grow and interact with other little ones her age, and create friendships that she had been missing over these last couple of years. Our children love the outdoor play, the singing, the art and all the activities that they get to participate in, always having stories to share about what they did with their friends throughout the day. Thank you ATCD(N) for making our move into schooling (and returning to work) such a positive and valuable experience. To say we are grateful and appreciative of how you love our children is an understatement. We are lucky to have found such a fantastic place for our little ones to be during the days.

We have been so impressed by the quality of faith-based care our son receives at Angelic Treasures! The staff genuinely love and adore our boy and he loves them all back! We have watched our sons vocabulary expand exponentially, as well as reach and surpass many other developmental milestones all thanks to the efforts and programming of staff at the centre. Highly recommend ☺️
